Updating Notre Dame's Favicon

Gold On Dark

Favicons, the small icon that appears on a browser tab, have long been a way to easily identify a site in a row of open browser tabs. For many years, our sites have used a blue Notre Dame monogram as the favicon. Due to recent operating systems changes, we've changed from a blue monogram to a gold one.

Recent updates to MacOS and Windows have added a feature known as "Dark Mode". This feature allows the user to turn the majority of their computers graphical interface, including many popular apps and all major browsers, to a darker color. When dark mode is enabled, the blue monogram practically disappeared. To rectify this situation, we're slowing switching to a gold version of the favicon, which is visible in both light and dark modes.
